THEME 1 :
SHOPPING IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE
"리테일분야에서 소비자, 서비스, 디자인의 관계"
헨리 크리스티앙 HENRY CHRISTIAANS (델프트공과대학 산업디자인엔지니어링학과 교수)
Retail Design is one of the most challenging new fields of design, anchored by the disciplines of both industrial design and architecture, but also embracing communication design and the application of design thinking to service changing consumer attitudes. ' Retail Design' involves the design of both physical and virtual stores. The retail designer is confronted with a wide range of choices that shape the retail experience: external elements like frontage, fascia and signage and internal elements including equipment, merchandising, displays, lighting and in-store communications. Retail Design also involves an understanding of what will work aesthetically within the space, how it will perform functionally and commercially, and how it can be built to budget in compliance with governmental regulations. Are you a retail professional looking to make your mark? Want to create successful concepts to beat stiff competition? Need to understand the economic, psychological, social and cultural factors which persuade shoppers to spend their money with you?
THEME 2 :
MY IPHONE WORKS WELL BUT...
"No-Fault-Found:완벽한 제품에서도 불만을 제기하는 소비자들에 대응하기
김차중 CHAJOONG KIM (델프트공과대학, 산업디자인엔지니어링 박사 취득 예정)
Since products were launched on the consumer market, most complaints made by consumers have been about breakdown of products. And over the years this type problems slowly decreased, as did the complaints about them. However, starting from the late 90s this trend bent towards an increase in complaints, despite of the technology. Many of the reasons for product returns interestingly have nothing to do with technical failure, but are based on some subjective reasons without articulation. These reasons of product return are called ‘No-Fault-Found’ problems that cannot be traced back to a specification violation failure.
In the lecture, we explore together what kind of ' No-Fault-Found' problems people have experienced and in which way they are related to user characteristics such as demographics, cognition, and personality.
